Alas and damnation, the weather gods were agin us and the above had to be cancelled at the 11th hour, despite the valiant efforts of the ground staff.
Plan B was put into operation and Richy-must be up for an award-volunteered to put on a Spicy Chicken with cous cous tea which was delicious[with a good after effect too]for the hardy souls who turned up. A good time was had with some hungry folk having 3 helpings.As Tom weighton and his 7 soulmates were about to start on the shotsit was time for some of the elder statesmen to go home!
Thank you to all who agreed to participate and especial thanks to those who helped out with team contacts etc both before and after. A second SCC is being organised for early 2010 and those down to play this time will get first refusal.We would have smashed and spanked the opposition with the magnificent 4 sides we had but that has merely been postponed.
