Scene & Heard-The Sunday Report on MondayPosted by banzai
A pretty damn good weekend was the general view expressed by all, with the usual suspects partaking of copious amounts of vodka/orange, Bulmers Cider, Guiness and the rest.
At least 3 members of our women's team did disappear(for a shower?) and return looking and smelling resplendent-they were checked out! I did say in one of my very early writings that showers were not obligatory but being at the NOTTY early after the game was essential--so the debate must go on! Maya , the birthday girl, fittingly scored the Bankers equaliser late in the game-a game they should have CLEANED up by half time. Rampant ended up BEWHALING the Twickers result. Never mind, they should beat Italy! ...delighted to report that the Madamoselle of the Match was our "debut" girl, Zoe and the Dick(Damsel) of the Day was Maya. Lots of former players were visiting-Tony Upton and his lovely wife of 18 months, who are planning to come back North. Unfortunately, Tony has injured himself, so his silky skills may not be available to his new Club. Nailgun was spotted(wonder why?) as was Asbo-looking the smart dude he always was. Then there was Dom Selvon aka KY(why?),used to be lighteningly fast down the right but abit like Ray, Peter and Keith Adams held on to the ball too long!Swede was also seen, probably cooking up something on the sidelines on Sunday. Delighted to see Amo-our M1's coach- and his good lady supporting us on and off the pitch but I don't think milk 'n'warm water would have swelled the takings but Amo did his best to drink for two.Good on you! The men's one for the 3rd time, in the shape of "Jim Lad" Osborne and the nicer shape-much nicer-Christina "Tiger" Woods did the Saturday raffle and we did get a result of sorts from most of the Hallam lads EXCEPT SCOTTY SANDERSON who said he had no money.Living up to his name. It was good to see Oscar in good form on and off the pitch and to meet 2 delightful friends of his, one who nearly damaged the writer in a place which is known to bring tears to one's eyes. Quick evasive action-yes even at his age averted a minor-yes at his age -an injury.Bring the girls again Oscar. The reponse for the Race Night has been good, so please do not leave it too late. Your captains will each have an allocation of tickets tonight. Ray also only has a few nags left.(Mostly about school kids, MP's expenses, poor grammar etc)So get buying. Will Sundown go to the bottom of the food queue, please on the 6th March! Finally, a rather unkempt umpire(not the ones on Sunday as they are above critism)was seen with his shirt out, hand in pocket(why) and if he'd still been playing would have been smoking a cigar! No prizes for the right answer. Is that ok, Christina?Bob PS.Thanks Richy for the super food and hard work. [Submitted by banzai] |
