Saturday the 27th was eerily quiet in the Notty when I enterered its hallowed hall at around 4.30. No signs of the hustlig, bustling Fruitbatt nor her colleagues choosing D of the D and MoM.
Squire Erskine(ref his Facebook photo)and his mentor from downtown Hunters Bar and their boisterous gang were also absent, some no doubt having a salacious time in Salou, in fancy dress and trying to play some hockey. Peggysalou and Sparta of the one's were, on this occasion, not missed, but can we plan it better next season guys!Go on tour at Whit!
The Donnie game on Sunday, well attended, was a good one with some needle thrown in and that was from the sidelines!A couple of yellows-justified but could have seen more-with Chis Downham doing a fair job as a tree surgeon(got away with it)but scoring a vital goal, in only his second National league game but meant he finishes the season, again with 18,as top scorer-again! Unlucky Hubcap-you'll have to wheel in a few more next season. Oscar,[was there enough tea for you my boy?] working tirelessly, scored the winner..but the play offs beckon v Indian Gymkhana(Hounslow way) and Old Georgians-in leafy Surrey over 3 weekends(we think)starting from Saturday 17th April-let's hope we have no game then or are drawn at home! The future is in our own hands and the views were very bullish on Sunday.

..but back to Saturday....when I left there were about 7 of us with most of us having our pies and interesting chats about a miscellany of things. A regular meet throughout the summer will be from 6pm onwards on most Saturdays, as apart from keeping in touch, we MUST support the Notty.Midweek too, please!
